enowa AG is taking a stake in the Würzburg-based start-up FAAREN as of November 1, 2018. The consultancy is thus developing its strategy of continuously expanding its digital offering through investments in digital business models as well as cooperations. FAAREN GmbH provides an online platform on which private and business customers can take out an individual all-inclusive car subscription at a fixed monthly price.
Daniel Garnitz, founder and CEO of the start-up company, on enowa’s investment: “We are very pleased to welcome enowa AG as the first investor in FAAREN GmbH. We believe that we have gained a very strong partner in enowa AG, which can open up relevant industries for us. The board of directors will be available to us in an advisory capacity and, above all, will provide us with strong support based on their many years of experience as entrepreneurs.”
FAAREN, Daniel Garnitz continued, is still at the beginning of an exciting journey in the industry-wide transformation of the automotive sector. But with its business model, he said, FAAREN is enabling the market to establish itself as the mobility service provider of the future, thereby meeting the demands of its customers. Daniel Garnitz elaborates: “With our developed car subscription platform, we will put the focus back on the versatile customer. Tomorrow’s customers demand simplicity and flexibility in all areas of life.”
Carsten Börner, Managing Director of enowa Innovation Lab GmbH and CEO of enowa AG, is also convinced of the start-up’s success: “In our eyes, FAAREN offers a business model that has implemented a crucial aspect for future-proof companies in the form of customer centricity. We are convinced that this digital platform will develop successfully. With our investment, we want to support the company and are sure that we as enowa AG will also benefit from the innovative input of a young, digital company.”
The investment in FAAREN GmbH, Carsten Börner continued, is part of a comprehensive strategy with which enowa AG is participating in new digital business models and entering into cooperations: “In our Industry business unit, we have been cooperating with Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences since 2018. Together, we have launched the “Digital Innovation Lab” and thus created a link between our resources.” Börner adds that the Lab provides a joint, interdisciplinary platform for the top topics of digitization, such as the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning (ML) and big data/analytics.
